  • INTENTIONAL SOFTWARE - Company Launch
    In September 2002, Julie assisted in the launch of this new software company founded by Charles Simonyi, Microsoft programming veteran and team leader for the development of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. For Intentional Software, Julie assisted in creating the launch strategy, positioning platform and communications elements and negotiated launch coverage including profiles in Newsweek Magazine, New York Times, Wall Street Journal and other major national business publications. Since 2002 Julie has continued assisting Intentional with marketing and communications counsel as the continues to build its technology portfolio.
  • VOLTAGE SECURITY – Company Launch, Brand Building and Category Leadership
    In July 2003, Julie helped launch this new information security software company founded by a Stanford professor and three students. The launch covered the company, first products and first customers. Julie assisted in creating the message platform and elements, including the corporate brand,  the launch strategy and executed the launch elements which resulted in widespread coverage including simultaneous feature coverage in the New York Times (front page mention in the business section) and Wall Street Journal (front page mention with in-depth story inside). Since then, Julie has been involved as a strategic communications advisor, helping  Voltage attain global leadership in information encryption.
  • DETERMINA – Company Launch and Brand Name Creation
    In June 2004, Julie assisted with the launch of the new enterprise security software company with a breakthrough new technology called ‘memory firewall’. Julie began working with the company early-on and helped create the corporate name, positioning and message elements, created the launch plan and strategy, provided assistance in creating launch materials, and executed press, analyst and customer relationships to support the launch. In 2007, Determin was purchased by VMWare.
  • PAYCYCLE – Corporate and Product Positioning, Brand Building and Program Execution
    Since 2006, Julie has assisted PayCycle with its strategic communications and program execution. During that time, the company has grown from 20,000 small business customers using its online payroll solution to become the clear industry leader with 75,000 customers. PayCycle has become a recognized leading SaaS company serving the small business community. Julie assists on both the corporate brand development side and provides strategic counsel and program execution in support of the PayCycle online payroll service offering.
  • WIDGETBOXBrand Creation and Company Launch
    In 2007 Julie assisted the three founders of Widgetbox in finalizing the brand identity and creating the original positioning and communications strategy that launched the company. Widgetbox quickly became a leading star in the rapidly exploding widget market with national exposure in the New York Times, BusinessWeek, Entrepeneur, Forbes,  TechCrunch, ReadWriteWeb, Mashable,   and many other outlets.  Today Widgetbox continues to build its service and customer base.
  • ASSETTE - Brand Creation, Strategic Communicaitons Consulting
    In 2007, Julie assited the founder in creating a new name and brand identity for this SaaS company serving asset managers.  The project included a comprehensive perceptual audit including in-depth interviews with current customers and prospects. The brand assessment let to the creation of a the new brand, and consultation on launching the new “company”. Since then Assette has continued its corporate and product growth.
